Proposed class action against cellular carriers stayed on abuse of process grounds

In Reasons for Judgment released on July 26, 2013, Mr. Justice Weatherill stayed a proposed class action commenced in British Columbia against certain cellular telephone carriers on the basis that the action was an abuse of process given similar proceedings commenced in Saskatchewan. Luciana Brasil and Jessica Campbell were counsel for one of the successful cellular carriers.
