Elizabeth Cunningham

Elizabeth Cunningham is a Senior Associate at Branch MacMaster LLP, practicing out of the firm’s Toronto office. Her practice encompasses complex civil litigation, employment law and class actions, representing both plaintiffs and defendants across a broad range of high-stakes disputes.

Elizabeth’s civil litigation practice spans employment and professional negligence, product liability, occupiers’ liability, and general negligence matters. In her employment and administrative law practice, she brings strong advocacy experience to workplace disputes, human rights matters, and regulatory challenges, regularly appearing before courts and administrative bodies, including the Ontario and BC Human Rights Tribunals, the Ontario and BC Labour Relations Boards, and the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board.

Prior to joining Branch MacMaster in 2022, Elizabeth served as counsel at the federal Department of Justice, where she also completed her 2L summer program and articles. Her dual background in both the public and private sectors gives her a unique, strategic perspective when advising clients navigating complex government regulations and statutory frameworks.

Outside of her legal practice, Elizabeth is an active runner and cyclist who regularly participates in local charity events, including the annual Sporting Life 10K and Baycrest’s Bike for Brain Health.
