Class Actions
Class actions are tools that alter the balance of power between plaintiffs and defendants. Available in British Columbia since August 1, 1995, class actions allow people to band together in one single case, making it easier to challenge large corporate defendants.
Branch MacMaster LLP has the depth of experience to manage class actions effectively. Ward Branch and Jim MacMaster, founding members of the firm, were counsel in four of the first seven class actions considered by British Columbia courts. Branch MacMaster LLP currently acts for plaintiffs and defendants in such actions.
